Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Requirements for Daycare?

We require all dogs to be fully vaccinated and fixed if over 6 Months. The core vaccinations that we need are, Bordetella, Distemper and Rabies. All dogs must also fulfill a Temperament Test before we accept any Daycare or Boarding Requests.

What is a Temperament Test?

A Temperament Test is a trial stay with us to see how your dog does in our daycare! Daycare is meant to maintain socialization so it is best to conduct a Temperament Test to ensure your pup is happy and safe with us as well as their future furry friends. If we see anxiety that may cause issues for your pup or any signs of aggression we will let you know and assist in finding alternative methods to daycare. The testing is complimentary for 2 hours and is by appointment only. Please email us if you would like to conduct a Test!

Are the dogs caged or in kennels?

No dogs are in cages or kennels throughout the night or during the day. The only time we put our dogs in cages is for feedings or nap time (by request only). Otherwise, all dogs are free to roam wherever their hearts desire. Even during their boarding stay, we will provide the dogs with beds and blankets to cuddle up with a human or a pup.

What should I bring for a Boarding/Overnight Stay?

Bring your pup’s medications/supplements, food and gear (collar, harness, leash). Easy Wag will provide the bowls, beds, and blankets! Since we are crate and kennel free we do not advise bringing personal belongings as other dogs may want to use them as well. If you happen to forget any food, no worries! We can provide house food at an additional cost!

What is the difference between Country Boarding and Easy Wag Boarding?

Country Boarding is a much more active lifestyle for dogs who love the outdoors. It is a very high activity based boarding that will allow your dog to stay in a gated home with a backyard, but also allow your dog to swim in a river (weather permitted), go to farms and farmer’s markets and have fun on hikes in nature. For Country Boarding, at most, only 3 dogs may board at one time.

Easy Wag Boarding is made to feel as if your dog is staying over at a friend’s house. We strive to ensure that each pup is taken care of and comfortable, but also still having fun. The dog’s will stay in our dedicated boarding area where we will lay out beds and blankets for them, and they get to choose if they want to cuddle their overnight handler or another dog. We even add a gentle ambiance to try to help the pups get the best rest possible. The dogs are monitored 24 hours and never crated or in kennels throughout the night. During the day, our boarding pups will join our daycare pups and have a bunch of fun playing with their friends!

Does my dog get relief walks?

Yes! If a dog is with us for a Full Day they will get two relief walks. If a dog is with us for a Half Day they will get one relief walk. If a dog is with us for Boarding/Overnight, they will get 2-3 relief walks and a bunch of backyard time!

If you happen to want more walks for your dogs, feel free to ask us. We will provide the pricing list for our add-on services.

Does Easy Wag separate dogs by size?

Our Easy Wag Clubhouse on the UWS only accepts smaller dogs. However, in our FiDi location all dogs are welcome to play together! Daycare is meant to maintain socialization. It is crucial that our staff teach our small dogs confidence and our larger dogs gentle paws. Not only does a combined room allow dogs to understand more social cues, but it allows them to behave appropriately when they see each other in parks or on walks!

Do you provide solo walks?

Our FiDi location is the only location that provides walks from home, pick ups and drop offs. However, we do not provide solo walks. All walks could potentially be paired with another friend or two!

Are Rabies Tags acceptable as a form of vaccination?

No. In accordance with the Department of Health, we need a Rabies Certificate that must detail the: Tag Number, Producer, and Lot Number and must be signed or stamped by the Vet.

Do you use toys to play with the dogs?

No. Some dogs could get quite aggressive over the toys, so we encourage them to play with one another, or the many handlers in the room will play with the dogs as well. We do, however, provide some enriching fixtures/installments that they can play on!

What time can I pick up my dog?

During our hours of operation. We kindly ask that parents come at least 15 minutes before closing to ensure an easy flow of dogs going home. If you happen to be late, we do ask that you call us to let us know how long since we do have a late fee. However, any dogs that are not picked up within 15 minutes of our closing time will be considered boarded. Our top priority is the safety of our dogs, and during our boarding we must lock the store down so the pups can be safe and sleep.

Is there always staff on the premises?

Absolutely! From Daycare to Boarding, no pup is ever without a handler.

Can a Friend/Family Member pick up my dog?

Sure! But, we do have a few rules. You must email or text us the full name and phone number of who may be picking your pup up. The person picking up your pup must have a valid form of Identification. Without notifying us that someone other than who is listed as an emergency contact, we will not allow just anyone to pick up your dog. We will call to verify if the person is approved if not notified. If we are unable to get in contact with you in time, we will board your dog with us and wait until we are able to reach you.

Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered to come to Daycare/Boarding?

Yes, in accordance with the Department of Health all dogs over 6 months must be spayed or neutered. If the dog happens to have a medical exemption as to why they are unable to be spayed or neutered, you can give us a signed letter from the veterinarian explaining why your dog is unable to be altered within the allotted time. This does not exempt the dog from a Temperament Test or behavioral issues. If your dog begins displaying behaviors that could potentially cause an issue to them or other dogs, we will ask that the dog be kept at home until they are able to be fixed and then we will conduct another Temperament test.

Do I need to make a reservation for Daycare or Boarding?

For Daycare, if your dog has already passed their Temperament Test there is no need to make a reservation. You can walk in! If we are ever at or near capacity we will send out a mass email. If your dog has not been with us before, you will need to schedule a Temperament Test prior to bringing your dog in for Daycare.

You do have to make a reservation for Boarding. We request that all Boarding Reservations are sent to us at least 24 hours in advance so we can ensure that we have the appropriate space and staff for the overnight crew.

What are the Holiday Hours?

The following Holidays that we operate during those times are: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday (Presidents' Day), Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

During these Holidays Easy Wag will only be open from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
